I love the idea for frontloading. I believe most teachers do this some way to grab the attention of their students. But hearing and learning about it tonight made it that much more clear on how important it is to have it for your lessons.
I agree about how important this concept is for us to utilize for our students. The reading was a bit of an eye opener for me as well. I think this will be a course that we will be able to take our learning and really use it in our own classrooms.
Frontloading really jumped out at me as well. I have spoken to some of the students I help with and there are a few that have describe what their teachers do on some occasions to get them started on a "cold read." Some seem effective. Others seem to fall short. I am looking forward to learning how to do this more effectively for my own reading and for others to engage better as well.
I agree with you as front loading being used to get the attention of our clas and students.. If we are able to connect with our students with the use of this then it will be something that teachers can grow with in their classroom

ReplyDeleteI realized how important frontloading is as well. I plan to practice that strategy next week!

ReplyDeleteI tried the strategy today in class. It is something I plan to continue. I also watched to see if the students glazed over the bold print in text.
